The School of Software of South China Normal University is a provincial-level demonstrative software school approved by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province in 2004. Since its establishment, through 15 years of continuous development, it has cultivated a large number of pillars of the society and country. The teachers work hard, and the students study diligently in it. Due to the joint efforts of teachers and students, the school’s development and expansion are promising. In 2013, the university implemented the comprehensive reform plan of the Nanhai campus, on which year the School of Software was relocated from Shipai Campus to the Nanhai Campus. Since then, new and rapid progress was made in the areas of research, talents training, social services, etc. The comprehensive strength of the school has been enhanced in a continuous way, and its development capability in the field of IT education has been gradually improved.
We are in a new era of rapid development and constant change. In this new era, the School of Software has been striving to be a school with perspective, ideals and commitment. The school is gradually forming the education idea of “pragmatic, progressiveness, innovation and excellence”. The school will provide support for the development of teachers and students. We are determined to train a group of future-oriented elites and entrepreneurs in the field of software among graduates, to train a group of excellent professional teaching faculty with patriotism among teachers.
Software is changing the tradition, software is redefining life, and software is creating a new world of the future. The School of Software individuals are actively and passionately following the pace of development of the times, creating the future, embracing the future, and striving to make contributions to building a better future world.
At present, the School of Software is making all efforts to promote Sino-foreign cooperation in running school, actively participating in the opening-up of national higher education, committed to cultivating high-quality and high-level international professional and technical talents who are equipped with cross-cultural communication skills global vision. It also strive to cultivate deliberate, humble and rational IT professional who can promote the peaceful development and progress of mankind and make the world a better place.
On the way forward, the school might encounter all kinds of difficulties and challenges. However the School of Software individuals will be brave enough to deal with various difficulties and obstacles in the development. We pay equal attention to teaching and research, academic research and technology application.
